Gross return includes returned stake. Profit/loss subtracts the original stake, so the two figures answer different questions.

How do you settle an Asian handicap from a final score?

Add the signed handicap to the selected team's goal margin.

A positive adjusted margin wins, zero pushes and a negative margin loses. A quarter line such as −0.75 first divides the stake equally between −0.50 and −1.00; settle both halves, then add their gross returns.

“Selected team” matters as much as the sign. Home −0.75 uses home goals minus away goals before adding −0.75. Away −0.75 uses away goals minus home goals. The same written handicap can therefore produce opposite answers for the two sides.

This calculator applies that disclosed mathematical sequence to your inputs. It does not retrieve a fixture, confirm that a score is official, interpret an operator's terms, calculate an edge or recommend a stake.

One-goal win, five different outcomes

Suppose the selected home team wins 2–1, the stake is 100 and decimal odds are 2.00. Changing only the line moves the same score through every Asian handicap settlement state.

What −0.25, +0.25, −0.75 and +0.75 split into

Every .25 or .75 handicap is shorthand for two adjacent whole or half-goal lines. Each component receives exactly half the entered stake in this calculator.

Selected −0.25½ stake at 0.00 + ½ stake at −0.50
Selected +0.25½ stake at 0.00 + ½ stake at +0.50
Selected −0.75½ stake at −0.50 + ½ stake at −1.00
Selected +0.75½ stake at +0.50 + ½ stake at +1.00
Half win does not mean half the full return.

Half the stake wins and returns stake plus winnings; the other half pushes and is returned. At decimal odds 1.91, a 1,000 half win returns 500 × 1.91 + 500 = 1,455 gross, which is 455 profit—not 500 and not 955.

Gross return and profit are not the same number

Gross return includes any original stake that comes back. Profit/loss compares that gross return with the complete original stake. The component calculation uses the decimal equivalent even when you enter fractional or American odds.

Winning componentgross = component stake × decimal odds
Pushing componentgross = component stake
Losing componentgross = 0
Complete receiptprofit/loss = total gross − original stake

Fractional 10/11 converts to 1 + 10 ÷ 11 = 1.90909… decimal. American +120 converts to 2.20; American −110 converts to 1 + 100 ÷ 110 = 1.90909…. Currency selection changes only the formatter. It does not change odds, line splitting or outcome.

Why this answer may differ from an operator statement

A final-score arithmetic engine cannot know which result an operator is contractually required to use. Regulation time, extra time, abandoned or postponed matches, void legs, taxes, bonuses, maximum payouts and monetary rounding can change the operational receipt without changing the line mathematics.

Use the operator's current terms for the real ruling.

This page is an educational reconstruction, not a universal settlement authority and not betting, financial or legal advice. If a statement differs, ask the operator for the exact rule, score period and component calculation it applied.

Asian handicap settlement calculator questions

What does Home −0.75 return after a one-goal win?

It is a half win: half the stake wins at Home −0.50 and half pushes at Home −1.00. At 2.00 decimal odds, 100 stake returns 150 gross and produces 50 profit before operator-specific adjustments.

What happens to the stake on an Asian handicap push?

In the disclosed arithmetic, that component returns its component stake with zero profit or loss. A complete push therefore returns the complete stake.

Does extra time count in this calculator?

The tool does not decide which match period counts. Enter the score applicable under the operator's current rules; those duration and void rules remain outside the calculator.

Does NGN, KES, GBP, USD, EUR or ZAR change the answer?

No. Currency affects the display symbol and formatting only. The settlement state, gross-return ratio and profit/loss ratio are identical for the same numerical stake and price.

Is this an Asian handicap prediction or betting tip?

No. It settles a user-entered final score and price. It does not estimate match probabilities, fetch odds, identify value, recommend a side or suggest how much to stake.
